Un-Breakabale

by Tirzah Shams

The young generation that you took away
Who had the power to save the day

The youth of ours that you have stopped
The doors of happiness that you have blocked

Mothers you left with nothing but tears
Siblings you left with nothing but fears

Blood you sprayed of our generation
Futures stopped to destroy our nation

You came in this country to destroy our men
To take the light that could have been

But every time you hammer us to break
We’ll rise up again for our country’s sake

Another persons eyes

by Tirzah Shams

You need to see this world around you
With another persons eyes
You need to see this world around you
That every day you despise

You need to learn ,to love, to hope
You need to learn to recognize
You need to see this world around you
With another persons eyes

It’s not what it always looks like
It’s not black and white
You’re not the only one
Who goes through trauma and fright

You’re not the only one for whom
Every day is a fight
You need to see this world around you
With another persons eye

Imperfect yet perfect

by Tirzah Shams

My eyes are not perfect
Nor my lips, nor my hair
Always seeing flaws
That aren’t even there

I know I’m too short
And don’t have the perfect grades
And as I enter home
I’m not surrounded by maids

My eyes are not blue
Nor my skin really fair
I don’t have the perfect
Straight blonde hair

My figure is not perfect
I’m not an hour glass
My earrings are not gold
For they’re made of brass

I can’t do good makeup
Nor have I a fashion sense
The need to look perfect
Always makes me tense

But now I know one truth
I am amazing, I am
I don’t need someone’s opinion
Nor the filters of a cam
